Cute jammies!

This morning Michel sat Lucas on his "Cars" couch next to his learning puppy and wouldn't you know it, he sat there watching TV looking just like his father!!! hehe :)

Do you like our jammies?? We think they are very cute and he very much looks like a big boy in them, no more baby here! :)

Up the coast to visit Jacqui, Gary & Jack!

We had a great day today when we went up the coast to Woy Woy to have some lunch at Jacqui, Gary and Jack's house. We were in the same birthing classes as Jacqui and Gary and Jack is less than one week younger than Lucas.

Of course only one of them would have been happy at the end! Our la la needs to get tough!! hehe Thanks for reminding me Jacqui - after Lucas started to cry he lent over towards Jack and cuddled him!! It was very cute.
Luckily later on the boys made up. :)

Oh the fun has started!!!

Today Lucas explored more of the house and his favourite place ended up being over near the hallway table. He sat here for ages playing with the CD player remote and looking at the photo's in the frames. Every chance he got he was back over there.

It is funny to see that such simple things can keep him occupied for quite a while. Here are some photos:

10 months today!!

Wow Lucas is 10 months today, the time just keeps flying past! Our little man is growing up so fast and becoming more like a little boy every day - no more baby here!

So at 10 months Lucas has:

• started crawling forwards and each day he goes further. He now realises that he can follow us around and will often watch where we go. Of course he doesn't want to miss out on anything! And he has started to realise he can now explore more of the house and what is on the bookshelf etc! Woohoo the fun has begun! :)


• cut his 4th tooth and I am pretty sure there are a few more moving around and ready to cut too.


• started to work out how to play with the various toys he has and what their purpose is. He likes making music with his crocodile xylophone, knocking down towers, playing with and listening to the music from his learning puppy and knocking around on his tool box. He really does love playing - he can play on his own and just loves others joining in! :)


• worked out how to play peak-a-boo.


• developed his own little personality. He is so placid and usually always happy. He loves nothing more than being tickled and having a great laugh.
  

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful boy and feel very blessed. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't all have a good laugh. We also can't believe that in another 2 months he will be 1!!!!

Granddad Stuart's birthday!

Today we went to Michel's mum and dad's house for some lunch to celebrate Granddad's birthday which is on Wednesday. We had a great day and Lucas showed everyone his new crawling trick! :)

The boy that needs a sleep!

FINALLY!!!

FINALLY Lucas has started crawling!!! YAY!!!! :)

Lucas and I were at mums and all of a sudden his arms moved and finally the legs followed and he was moving!!! So we tried setting up some more toys further away, trying to get him to crawl to them and he did. He doesn't look that steady on all fours yet but it's a start and we will get there. Sometimes he actually looks like he is bunny hopping hehe

Unfortunately Michel was at work, but thank goodness for technology I recorded it on my camera and Michel was very impressed when he came home and saw it!

We just tried to get Lucas to show Michel his new trick but of course it took a bit of convincing, but finally he showed him. The following photos are of Lucas while we are trying to convince him to show Daddy his crawling techniques! Of course he is probably sitting there thinking "Do you think I do these kinds of things on demand??" with a cheeky grin to match!

We are very proud of our cheeky monkey! :)

So I've been a little slack!!

Ok, ok I have been a little slack with no entry for a few days!

Not much happening here at the moment. Lucas is on antibiotics as he has a slight chest infection and it seems to be clearing up slowly. He is still rocking on all fours and looks like he is just going to take off crawling but gets lazy and falls down onto his tummy and kind of wiggles to where he wants to go!

Oh and I applied for a maternity leave extension and it was granted!! YAY!!! :) I applied for another 12 months just to be on the safe side, but I won't be taking it all as I think Michel would freak out!!! I am just not ready to go back to work yet and would like to wait till Lucas has turned 1. So we will see what happens after that!

Rory has a sleep over!

Yesterday Rory came over for a sleep over. We had a great time! Yesterday morning Lucas had a photo session down on the beach that we had from a Baby Expo when I was pregnant, so we had to use it by the end of March. Rory and Michel played some cricket at the park and then we came home for lunch. Then Rory and Michel played some more cricket in the backyard - oh did I tell you that Rory is just a tad obsessed with cricket?? hehe :) It is good though for him to have a sport that he is interested in and he is actually really good at it too! A future Aussie cricketer?? Last night we went out to have some dinner with Sam, Ronwyn and the boys - Rory had a great time playing and talking to Lachlan.

Rory made Lucas laugh the whole time he was here. Following is a picture of Lucas laughing his head off while Rory tries to balance a shaker on his head and then once it fell, Lucas thought it was just the funniest thing!!!
Ohh and Lucas is now able to go from a crawling position to sitting back up! We still aren't crawling forwards yet though! :) And that fourth tooth is about to cut!!! We have a grumpy boy here at the moment!

OK so our boy likes to entertain himself sometimes. Yesterday he found the front window. He sat there for a while looking out, watching the world go by having a great time. Then the next minute we look at him from the outside and he starts blowing raspberries on the window. Hmm interesting, but then when we go outside and have a look from that side - well this is what we found!!! Mr Piggy!! :)

The 3rd tooth is here!

Lucas has his 3rd tooth now and I think he might also be getting another one right next door! hehe :)

He is still getting over his cold, so hopefully he will be 100% soon! The runny nose is a new thing for him though. Every now and then you can see him sniff and he scrunches his nose up, it looks very funny and cute!

Today I also noticed that Lucas was able to play with his hammering activity. He used the hammer to hit the objects on the toy. He was also able to play the xylophone crocodile too and made some get music! We only got these toys out a few days ago and he has already been able to work out how to do it. Hopefully I will be able to get some photos to add here.

Anyways off to bed now!

Our monkey is starting to get up on all fours and then does the rocking movement. This apparently usually leads to babies crawling forwards, so we will have to wait and see.

He is also starting to try and climb up on things or people. Here is a photo from tonight. I wonder if Lucas will not crawling and just go straight to walking, should be interesting to see what happens! :)

Granddad came to have some dinner...

Lucas is getting very cheeky now. When he is on the mat playing he now makes his way over to the coffee table and lifts one arm up off the ground to pull all the magazines off the table! Today he managed to pull them all down and then started scrunching the tv guide up! :)

The poor little bugger has a nasty cold at the moment and he has two teeth coming. So of course he is a little clingy and just not himself. Hopefully the cold will pass soon.

Tonight Granddad came to visit to have some dinner. It was close to Lucas' sleep time, so the photo's weren't the best but here is one of the better ones. Good to see that the cheeky monkey can still smile even when he isn't well.
