Uh oh needle time!

Well I haven't posted for a while because we have been busy, busy, busy!!!

On Saturday morning we watched Lachlan play soccer in the morning then headed to Dad's in the afternoon for a BBQ where Rory joined us. He slept the night and then on Sunday we dropped him off and headed up the coast to see Jack for his birthday!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY JACK!!!

Today Lucas had his 12mth needles! I think it is more stressful for us as parents than it is for them. hehe He was pretty good - the 1st one didn't bother him the 2nd one he had this look on his face that said "what was that" and then by the 3rd one he had a little bit of a cry and then got distracted by something the doctor did. The poor little thing hardly ever has his dummy during the day although he still wanted it when we got home.

Lucas even got a few paddle pop sticks for his troubles!! hehe

We had a great weekend with Lucas' party with his friends on the Saturday and then lunch at mum's on the Sunday. He was VERY spoilt with toys, clothes and money and come Sunday night he was totally exhausted! On Saturday Lucas didn't really like everyone singing Happy Birthday to him but then on Sunday he didn't mind so much!

Our boy is now 1 and the countdown begins for the next birthday!! hehe

What a difference a year makes!

Well exactly one year ago at this exact time my waters had just broken and so began Lucas' journey to meet the outside world! I can't believe that it is now one year on and we have the most beautiful little boy we could ever have wished for.

Right now I am "trying" to make his birthday cake for tomorrow hehe and I have just wrapped his presents. I am also trying to put the finishing touches on a slide show of photos from birth till today. We can't believe how much he has change and how lucky we have been.

It has been a year and our little boy will be 1 tomorrow. Our cheeky monkey is no longer a baby, now he will be a toddler!

Mother's Day!

Well today was my first Mother's Day and I had a great time! I am so lucky to be a mum to such a gorgeous little boy and thank you to Michel for a wonderful day and for spoiling me! I can't wait for next year!! hehe! :)
I got a beautiful diamond and gold heart shaped pendent and necklace for our anniversary and mothers day and also a video camera!! The video camera was a complete surprise and Michel had been teasing me about what was in the box for the last few days. Tsk tsk!!

We had mum and Michel's parents over for lunch today and it was nice and relaxing. A great day!

Here is Lucas always trying to get our coke zero drinks! Yiayia would shoot us if you drank that!! hehe

Before I was a Mum

Before I was a Mum I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunisation.
Before I was a Mum - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mum I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mum I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mum.

Before I was a Mum - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mum - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mum.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mum.

And before I was a Grandma, I didn't know that all those "Mum" feelings more than doubled when you see that little bundle being held by "your baby"...

8 year anniversary!

Well today was our 8 year wedding anniversary and the 3 of us went out to a beautiful seafood restaurant for dinner! It was VERY nice and Lucas was so well behaved! :)
