Christmas 2008

I am currently sitting here surrounded by presents, with the sound of the CARS piston track on the floor in front of me. DS' favourite present and it he hasn't turned it off since we put the batteries in it. Oh my goodness what a noisy thing, I think DH is getting a headache already! lol

But he is enjoying it immensely and playing with his dad. DS came out this morning and just stared at all the presents under the tree. We said look what Santa left you and he was still just standing there.

"Do you want to open them?" Now that made him move and get started. He loved it all and got lots of satisfaction out of ripping the wrapping off and seeing what was in there.

This year DS got the Cars Piston Track, Little People House, Little People learn about town, a Wiggles cd, 3 pairs of pj's, a Wiggles car with little Anthony, Jeff, Murray and Sam figures, sunnies and a book from us.

He also got a Wiggles accordian (thank KDC&A), a Wiggles CD and a lunch bag (thanks Aunty Karen) and money.

That is only the beginning as we haven't even left the house to visit all the family. Can anyone say spoilt!!

I loved watching DS' face as he opened all his presents. There is nothing like watching a child's excitement at Christmas time.

Pics to come!

Fathers Day

Yesterday we had a lovely day at the inlaws and my dad also came for lunch! It was nice to relax and enjoy a nice lunch.

Lucas is very lucky to have a such a loving, caring dad. He just adores him and wants to follow him everywhere he goes - Michel's little shadow I call him now. Lucas loves hanging out with his dad doing anything from swimming lessons, rumbling on the bed or just watching tv.

Thank you for being a wonderful dad Michel! :) xx

Lucas had such a long day he fell asleep on the couch dressed, with shoes on! lol

I love his hands in the following photo.

Say cheese!! :)

Today Lucas and I caught up with Simone and Jake and Liz, Lani and Scarlett. We had a great day. Lucas and Jake seemed to have formed a very good friendship and they enjoy each others company. They are also very cute!! :D

I like this ...

Paul Harvey Writes:

* We tried so hard to make things better for our kids that we made them
worse. For my grandchildren, I'd like better.

* I'd really like for them to know about hand me down clothes and homemade
ice cream and leftover meat loaf sandwiches. I really would.

* I hope you learn humility by being humiliated, and that you learn honesty
by being cheated.

* I hope you learn to make your own bed and mow the lawn and wash the car.

* And I really hope nobody gives you a brand new car when you are sixteen.

* It will be good if at least one time you can see puppies born and your old
dog put to sleep.

* I hope you get a black eye fighting for something you believe in..

* I hope you have to share a bedroom with your younger brother/sister. And
it's all right if you have to draw a line down the middle of the room, but
when he wants to crawl under the covers with you because he's scared, I
hope you let him.

* When you want to see a movie and your little brother/sister wants to tag
along, I hope you'll let him/her.

* I hope you have to walk uphill to school with your friends and that you
live in a town where you can do it safely.

* On rainy days when you have to catch a ride, I hope you don't ask your
driver to drop you two blocks away so you won't be seen riding with
someone as uncool as your Mom.

* If you want a slingshot, I hope your Dad teaches you how to make one
instead of buying one.

* I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books.

* When you learn to use computers, I hope you also learn to add and subtract
in your head.

* I hope you get teased by your friends when you have your first crush on
a boy\girl, and when you talk back to your mother that you learn what Ivory soap tastes like.

* May you skin your knee climbing a mountain, burn your hand on a stove and
stick your tongue on a frozen flagpole.

* I don't care if you try a beer once, but I hope you don't like it.. And if
a friend offers you dope or a joint, I hope you realize he is not
your friend.

* I sure hope you make time to sit on a porch with your Grandma/Grandpa and
go fishing with your Uncle.

* May you feel sorrow at a funeral and joy during the holidays.

* I hope your mother punishes you when you throw a baseball through
your neighbour's window and that she hugs you and kisses you at
Hannukah/Christmas time when you give her a plaster mold of your hand.

* These things I wish for you - tough times and disappointment, hard work
and happiness. To me, it's the only way to appreciate life.

They grow up way to fast ...

I have been sitting here looking at photos from when Lucas was born and it doesn't feel like that long ago but it has been 2years already. Where has my little baby gone? Now he stands in front of me, his big brown eyes staring back at me as he tries hard to have a conversation with me.

He is trying to talk a lot now but sometimes I don't have a clue what he is trying to say to me. It must get so frustrating for them when they think they are explaining themselves as best they can and you sit there looking at them confused!! lol :) He loves to use people's names and of course that makes them feel very special. He can count up to 10 and can show you up to 5 on his fingers!

He loves helping me unpack the dishwasher (much more than his father lol), he will help feed the cat, he helps with the washing and he is always following you around. Don't step back too fast because you can guarantee that he will only be a step or two behind you watching whatever you are doing and seeing how he can become involved. :)

He is totally obsessed with the Wiggles, he loves playing the guitar and dancing around, he loves playing out the back on his bikes or kicking a ball, he is in heaven when we go to the park and he loves to have friends over to play with. He adores older children and he loves to play and laugh with children his own age. He is starting to take more risks and tries new things.

He is our gorgeous little boy, so sweet and cuddly. I love getting hugs and kisses from him and I love just sitting next to him on the couch reading a book or watching tv.

"I love you Lucas" now gets the response, "I love you Mum" which just warms my heart. We are so blessed.

Say "cheese Lucas" hahaha He thinks he looks very cool in these sunnies!! :D

I really should update this more!!!

Naughty me! :D

Lucas is now 2.2yrs and as cheeky as ever. He is loving being at kindy with me and after initially finding it hard to settle he is now loving it. He does have the girls wrapped around his little finger and all he has to do is smile at them and they are hooked.

He is continuing to talk a lot more although sometimes we are convinced he is talking his own language or perhaps it is a mixture of English and Greek thanks to Yiayia! :)
